AWL is proud to handle logistics for some of the most innovative and cutting-edge technologies. Recently, the Manchester team facilitated the delivery of the Proto Luma to the University of Lancashire for an exciting demonstration of this world-first technology.

Proto is renowned for its life-sized hologram device, which allows real-time holographic communication that feels incredibly lifelike.
The technology enables live subjects to be projected as 7ft-tall holograms into the Proto device, making it appear as if a person, or even an object, is physically present. The live subject can be beamed to any Proto device across the globe, using any camera or mobile phone.
It’s a groundbreaking tool for communication and collaboration, and AWL were thrilled to be a part of this demo.

For this delivery, we used a specialised two-man crew with a hiab lorry - a truck equipped with a mounted crane that is powered by the vehicle’s engine.
The hiab was essential for offloading and unpacking the heavy Proto Luma unit at the university site. The team handled the delicate equipment with the utmost care, ensuring a smooth and efficient setup for the demo.
Our Manchester team’s attention to detail and expertise in handling complex, high-value shipments helped ensure the Proto Luma was delivered on time and in perfect condition.
This project showcases our commitment to supporting the latest innovations and ensuring their safe, efficient transport to key locations, enabling future-focused demonstrations like the one at the University of Lancashire.
